In areas where there is no loess, talus deposits are often the only source of Pleistocene fossils. Such talus deposits are found only in limestone areas, and are exposed where road a railroad construction has opened them up. They are important in Kentucky and Tennessee in showing that such. species as Henderson i a occulta (Say) and Allogona profunda (Say) were once widely distributed here although they are not known to be living here at the present time.
