Abstract
This checklist points out disease prevention strengths (what you are doing well) and areas for improvement on your organic/alternative livestock farm/ranch. Disease prevention actions can reduce the risk of disease-causing germs from entering, spreading, and leaving your property. It accompanies additional handouts available here, Step 1: Movement Risks and Disease Preventio and Step 3: Disease Prevention Plan Template. This handout refers to information covered in Chapter 3, "Prevention: Proactive, Practical Measures that Prioritize Animal Health" in Organic and Alternative Livestock Health.
