Abstract
Reportable diseases (RDs) are serious diseases in the US that can spread within your herd or flock. They can also spread to nearby farms, your community, and beyond. This handout reviews frequently asked questions surrounding RDs, foreign animal diseases (FADs), and their reporting requirements. This handout accompanies Chapter 3, "Prevention: Proactive, Practical Measures that Prioritize Animal Health" in Organic and Alternative Livestock Health.
