OF NOTE...
- Chuck Hill
Abstract
Commotion, debris, disruption: these are not words ordinarily used to describe functioning archives. Nonetheless, they characterize the daily routine at the Center for Southwest Research during an eighteen month building project that included remodeling, renovation and new construction. Dirt, noise and leaks were common. Six major collection moves ran the gamut from controlled to chaotic. Several office moves were punctuated by misdirected mail, no telephone service and long trips to pick up supplies. Through it all, we managed to maintain public service during the regular fall and spring semesters, closing only for large collection moves in the summer.
