Preservation Information
- Miriam Kahn
Abstract
One of the more interesting publications produced this fall was the November 1995 report distributed by the Commission on Preservation and Access, “New Tools for Preservation: Assessing Long‑Term Environmental Effects on Library and Archives Collections.” It was researched and written by James Reilly, Doug Nishimura and Edward Zinn of the Image Permanence Institute (IPI), with a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities’ Division of Preservation and Access. They report on the development of a new tool and tables for predicting the deterioration of any format or medium in long‑term storage.
