Of Note…
- Chuck Hill
Abstract
As some archives rush to digitize photographs and others attempt to gain intellectual control over burgeoning photo collections, more archivists face the difficult cataloging issues involved in providing access to photographs. Archival standards for cataloging photographs are still evolving; many archivists are building cataloging databases but relatively few are using strict MARC VM format. This account of one institution’s experience should contribute to the ongoing debate.
