Abstract
The response to the preference survey for a Fall 2000 meeting site has been surprisingly good; 40 votes so far (there’s still time to express an opinion), with Toronto narrowly leading Cleveland. We always want to make MAC meetings accessible, so I would be particularly interested in hearing from any members who would normally receive travel support for the fall meeting but whose institutions will not fund foreign travel. During its May meeting, Council will discuss (among many other things) additional possibilities for inter‑regional communication and cooperation; if you have ideas or opinions about this, please let me know. The Business Meeting will provide an opportunity for (among other things) questions concerning MAC’s budget and finances, as summarized in the last newsletter and detailed in this issue. A special session during the Spring program will focus on MAC’s role as an advocate on local, state, regional, and national archival issues. Are there things we should be doing but aren’t; things we are doing but shouldn’t?—please come express your views.
