Abstract
Debra Shapiro, Assistant Curator of Prints & Photographs at the Chicago Historical Society, has accepted the position of photo research coordinator with the Pleasant Company located in Madison, Wisconsin. This company produces the American Girls series of dolls and books. Beginning on August 28, Deb will be responsible for locating and keeping track of images used in various creative projects initiated by the publishing arm of the company, including books, magazines, videos, etc. Deb began work at Chicago Historical Society in 1992 as a project cataloger on the Hedrich‑Blessing NEH grant. She was promoted in June 1994 and was chiefly responsible for accessioning and processing collections. Her cataloging skills (and her cooking talents!) will be greatly missed at CHS.
