Abstract
Mary Lynn McCree, Manuscript Librarian and Curator of the Jane Addams’ Hull‑House Museum, and Father Thomas Elliott, Provincial Archivist for the Holy Cross Fathers, Indiana Province, met on January 7, 1972 at the Jane Addams’ Hull‑House Museum with archivists from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin to discuss the idea of forming a regional association of archivists and manuscript curators. The primary aim of this regional group was to attract those people now working in various facets of archival activity who found it difficult, if not impossible, to become actively engaged in the work of the national archival organization.
