Abstract
Yes, here we are once again going through another transition with the MAC Newsletter. Such is the nature of voluntary organizations. And in some instances, the quality of work rides a roller coaster, going up and down, depending on the energies put forth. However, MAC volunteers for some years now have worked hard to maintain a steady evolution and improvement in the management and content of their newsletter. Today there is an editorial board with the Editor as its chair, columnists dedicated to specific topics and assignments, and commercial operations involved in Newsletter management, production, and distribution… all to deliver archival news from the Midwest to you. It’s become quite an operation. But beyond these technical improvements lies the purpose for MAC and its Newsletter. The newsletter’s primary mission should be to share information about archival happenings in the Midwest and to promote through this sharing the archival services we bring to our constituents. Advocating the importance and value of archives in the Midwest lies at the core of MAC’s existence; its newsletter should support this.
