The Society of Ohio Archivists
- Carol Tomer
Abstract
The Society of Ohio Archivists (SOA) was founded in 1968, which gives it the distinction of being the first formally organized state archival association. SOA provides opportunities for exchange of information, cooperation and improvement of professional skills among individuals employed in various institutions around the state. As is the case with other archival organizations, SOA endeavors to promote the collection, preservation and availability of the manuscript and archival resources of Ohio and the cooperation of professionals in this and related fields.
