Fall Symposium at Cranbrook a Success
- Karen Mason
Abstract
Archivists often greet the arrival of a scrapbook in a new accession with a groan, thinking of the preservation and storage problems it presents. We've all dealt with the oversize volume bursting with not-so-flat items, crumbling pages, and troublesome adhesives. But when we open the book, our dismay often turns to delight as we discover the treasures contained within. This year's fall symposium likewise overflowed with pleasures, from the tours of the Cranbrook Educational Community buildings and grounds to the sessions that caused us to think in new ways about this challenging format.
