Reviving the SAA Student Group: Lessons Learned

Abstract

The Wayne State University (WSU) student chapter of the Society of American Archivists (SAA) had been dormant for a few years, when one day in 2005, a message was posted to the program's electronic discussion list calling for the group's revival. The path to my eventual presidency of the chapter began that night, months before I stepped into a library or took an archival course. It will end in December 2007, with my graduation. Here is what I learned along the way.
