"I am MAC"

Abstract
I joined MAC while I was in graduate school and I attend meetings as I am able. The first meeting I attended was in Minneapolis in 2002; a graduate school friend and I were on a budget so we drove there from Michigan. I taught her how to drive my stick shift so that I wouldn't have to do all of the driving myself. When she drove, we just prayed that we wouldn't hit any stoplights getting on and off the highway so that she didn't have to ease off the clutch!
