Abstract

This Britcom title suggests, albeit in parody, a question that MAC, like all member-driven associations, ought to be asking its members in every way possible, every chance it gets. It seems to me that this is a particularly good time for us MACers to be asking the question more aggressively because we are beginning to see a notable erosion in our membership numbers, a net loss in individual members each year for the past several years. In contrast, individual membership in both the Society of American Archivists and the Academy of Certified Archivists has been growing during the same period. Our membership growth over the years has certainly been uneven, and the present situation may be no great cause for concern. Then again, it may be.
