Practical Preservation for the Penurious 2: Environmental Control on No Budget
- Sally Childs-Helton (Butler University)
Abstract
This is the second of three columns focusing on preservation on a limited budget (see the April 2006 issue of the MAC Newsletter for part one). This column will look at inexpensive ways to improve your environmental control, including heat and humidity, light, vermin, and mold, even if you work in a "problem building," as I do. Many of us face environmental challenges in buildings old and new, and these problems often take big money to fix. Realistically, most of us will have to live with these problems for some time. So what can we do with our meager budgets to improve the environments in which we must store our materials and work?
