Practicum Pays Off for Student's Burgeoning Professional Career

Abstract

When I first began at Kent State University (KSU), I was really pleased to discover that I could opt to do a practicum, or "culminating experience," in order to complete my master's degree. At first, I thought this was a great opportunity to avoid writing a research paper. As it turned out, my practicum was more than a way to circumvent having to do a literature review and use proper grammar; it was also a valuable learning experience.
