Digitizing Strong Women, Good-Looking Men, and Above-Average Children

Abstract
A Prairie Home Companion (PHC), the weekly radio variety show hosted by Garrison Keillor, has been on the air for more than 30 years. The show features two hours of skies, music, banter, monologues, and live sound effects. Based in the Twin Cities, it broadcasts live from the Fitzgerald Theater in downtown St. Paul. Additional venues are Town Hall in Manhattan around the winter holidays, and other locations around the country. More than four million listeners hear PHC each week on nearly six hundred public radio stations; this includes members of the military in Europe and the Far East on the Armed Forces Networks. Currently the show is produced by Prairie Home Productions and distributed nationally by American Public Media.
