Abstract

I have a confession to make. I hate EAD. Sure, I used to love it. I guess its well-formed structure was what first caught my eye; here was the descriptive standard that I had been looking for my whole life (well, at least my whole professional life). I couldn't resist the attributes it flaunted during our initial flirtations-flexibility, its promise of openness, the way the glow of my CRT played with its elements. I lavished it with attention, validated its existence, and ran it through my XSLT processors. It was love at first sight.
