Abstract

A great deal of conversation about the events of September 11 took place on the Listserv. Some archivists who work in Manhattan were able to tell their colleagues they were safe. Many who simply needed to share their thoughts and feelings about the terrible events did so on the Listserv. Our international colleagues offered sympathy and support. Eventually some of the discussion turned to archival matters with interesting questions raised about backing up information off site and how to document the disaster.
