ELECTRONIC CURRENTS
- Janet Carleton
Abstract
I have included here a listing of some of the more prominent metadata developments. Much of the recent metadata work is coming from the E-print and scholarly publishing community, a place where they use the term “archive” to mean a repository for stored information. Although in many cases the work going on here is not aimed at preserving records of enduring historical value, this does not and should not preclude us from using it in a manner to achieve the common good.
