Abstract
The meeting was called to order at 8:30 A.M. by Frank Boles. The agenda was revised to allow Julie Thomas to present a report on her research into local arrangements for future meetings. Boles asked Thomas about the premium MAC paid for meeting in Chicago. He asked the question, “Can MAC afford to keep coming to Chicago?” Thomas said it depends on what the membership wants. Are they willing to meet in a place where rooms will be $200 a night? Thomas stated we need to look at all aspects of the meeting: registration fees, AV costs, room rentals, meal charges, etc. Most of these costs, except meals, are negotiable at hotels in other cities.
