Abstract

The Ohio Electronic Records Committee (ERC), , was convened in 1998 to draft policy and guidelines for the creation, maintenance, long-term preservation of, and access to electronic records created by Ohio’s state government. At that time, the ERC recognized that one of the many challenges confronting archivists and record creators was the proliferation of Web-based publishing by state agencies. Since 1998 these challenges have only increased as Web-based publishing has continued to grow.
