2002 MAC Minority Scholarship Recipients Chosen
- Midwest Archives Conference (Midwest Archives Conference)
Abstract
Two aspiring archivists have been selected to receive MAC Scholarships for Minority Students in Archival Administration. Joel A. Blanco and Georgette Mayo are this year’s recipients of a $750 award and a one-year complimentary membership to MAC. The dual purpose of the scholarship, awarded since 1994, is to provide financial assistance to students of color pursuing graduate education in archival administration and to encourage ethnic diversification of MAC and of the archival profession as a whole. Committee members Deborah Burns, Deborah Dandridge, Julie Herrada, Romie Minor, and Kathryn Neal (outgoing chair) made the selection in the spring.
