Abstract

Many of us are familiar with the phrases, “Hi-Yo, Silver! The Lone Arranger Rides Again!” or something to that effect. A good portion of the MAC membership comprises Lone Arrangers, those professionals in small, one-person shops responsible for everything from appraisal to arrangement and description to outreach. I’ve been a Lone Arranger (L.A.) for over 20 years (where did they go?). One of my goals as MAC president is to demonstrate that someone from a small shop can, indeed, serve in this office. Well, so far, so good, due to MAC being blessed with such great, talented people serving as officers, Council members, committee chairs/members, and, of course, the general membership. MAC members are naturally helpful and willing to offer suggestions and advice, both in terms of running MAC and in our professional duties. Thank you, fellow MACers—and please, keep it up!
