Abstract

In 1998, an Electronic Records Committee (ERC) was formed to facilitate collaboration and communication among information technology (IT) professionals, archivists, records managers, and other interested parties within Michigan government. The top priority of the State Archives and Records Management programs was to get the ERC to address the issue of E-mail retention.
