Abstract

The Chicago Historical Society has recently acquired the following manuscripts: Personal papers of Negro publisher Claude A. Barnett of Chicago, along with files of the Associated Negro Press, which Barnett established in 1919 and served as director until shortly before his death in 1967; papers of the Chicago Teachers Union; files of the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission and of its predecessor, the Chicago Regional Planning Association; the archives of the Chicago Boys Clubs; papers of sociologist and criminologist Hans W. Mattick; records of the Chicago Area Project, one of the nation's first juvenile delinquency treatment and prevention programs, along with papers of youth worker Anthony Sorrentino and the Institute for Juvenile Research, Chicago.
