Job Security…An Issue for MAC?
- David J. Olson
Abstract
As we all know the national archival society has consistently avoided involvement in the question of job security and tenure with regard to its membership. This can probably be attrituted to a natural reticence to involve a professional society in personnel disputes. However, the last few years has seen, due to the difficult financial conditions in higher education, and the cutback of federal programs, a number of qualified archivists loose their jobs due to purely economic reasons. What should be the response of regional archival associations to this problem?
