Who Should Use Our Archives?

Author
  • Archie Motley

Abstract

The question of research access to archival materials is a matter which needs further consideration by all of us engaged in the field. Participants in recent professional program sessions and authors on the subject have done well to come to grips with the need to protect the right of copyright and to guard against the invasion of one's privacy--matters of utmost importance. They have also performed a useful function by elucidating how research access is interrelated with the all-important question of a collecting agency's relations with present and prospective donors.
