Valerie Gerrard Browne Presented with Emeritus Member Award

Abstract

At MAC’s spring meeting in Chicago, MAC and its Membership Committee were honored to award Valerie Gerrard Browne with the title of Member Emerita. Valerie joined MAC in 1973 while an archivist at the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs at Wayne State University, Detroit. Since that time, Valerie has tirelessly given her time and talents to our organization, including work on the following committees: Local Arrangements, Program, Constitutional Revisions, Committee Guidelines Review, Emeritus Member Award, and President’s Award. Her elected positions have included Nominating Committee, Council, Vice President, and MAC President (1991–1993).
