Abstract

This study discusses the dynamic role of gender perception in leadership and fashion among millennials. By evaluating leadership and awareness of leader’s fashion with gender roles in millennials, it aims to find out their inclination of gender equality and preferred type of leaders. Data were collected by surveying a sample of 249 undergraduate students, who were born between the years 1990 and 2000. BSRI (Bem, 1974) was used to measure the gender role of the respondent. The results demonstrated that millennials regards androgynous male as powerful leaders. However they require male leader to have higher femininity than female leaders. The awareness of leader’s fashion was not related to leadership power. These findings suggest that millennials show more egalitarian personality than previous generations.
