Abstract

Streetbound is a zero-waste garment that demonstrates how sustainable design can achieve both expressive surface design and sculptural silhouette, reflecting growth in technical skill and conceptual originality. Inspired by graffiti and urban streetwear, the project explores how zero-waste methods can move beyond minimalist aesthetics toward bold, culturally resonant fashion. A digitally illustrated textile print, layered over manipulated graffiti photography, creates a visually dense and highly personalized surface. Rectangular patterning ensured complete fabric utilization, while excess curves were repurposed as functional pocket components. The garment’s transformative silhouette is achieved through an intricate system of reinforced denim belts with hand-set grommets, allowing it to shift from oversized drape to cinched, sculptural form. This modular adaptability strengthens the design’s emotional and functional value. By merging zero-waste construction with streetwear language, Streetbound expands sustainable fashion discourse and illustrates how innovative patterning, digital surface design, and interactive shaping strategies can redefine the possibilities of zero-waste apparel.
