Abstract

Bangladesh's apparel industry, contributing approximately 80% of national exports and 12% of GDP, faces unprecedented challenges requiring enhanced supply chain integration and resilience. Despite this sector's significance, limited research examines the antecedents of supply chain integration and its impact on resilience from developing countries' perspectives. This study develops a conceptual framework grounded in contingency, resource dependency, and dynamic capability theories to investigate how export market dynamism and sustainable strategic planning influence supply chain integration (supplier, customer, and internal) and subsequently affect supply chain resilience (proactive, adaptive, and restorative capacities). The framework proposes digital technology as a moderator between integration and resilience dimensions. Eight hypotheses are developed for future empirical testing using structural equation modeling with data from Bangladesh's apparel manufacturing firms. This research advances theoretical understanding and provides managerial implications for enhancing resilience capabilities in Bangladesh's apparel supply chains.
