Abstract

Guided by the Textiles and Clothing (T&C) domain in the global supply chain framework, this study examines how Information System Integration (ISI) and supply chain functions on B2B e-marketplaces jointly influence business performance among U.S. fashion firms. Using survey data from 314 respondents, the research evaluates the effects of ISI and five marketplace activities—buying and sourcing, sales and distribution, marketing and promotion, design and product development, and fashion intelligence—across high and low brand-oriented firms. ISI positively affected performance in both groups, with stronger effects for high brand-oriented firms. High brand-oriented firms benefited more from sales but experienced negative effects from design and product development, while low brand-oriented firms gained greater value from buying and sourcing. A significant ISI–marketing interaction emerged for low brand-oriented firms. The findings show that ISI’s effectiveness depends on brand orientation and specific supply chain activities, offering strategic insights for fashion firms and B2B platform providers.
