Examining U.S. Apparel Brands and Retailers’ Evolving Sourcing Strategies

Abstract

Based on a content analysis of S&P500 U.S. apparel brands and retailers’ published annual reports, this study identified these companies’ critical evolving sourcing trends in the most recent years. The findings deepened our understanding of U.S. apparel brands and retailers’ sourcing priorities and strategies behind the macro trade statistics. The results also provided valuable market intelligence, supporting apparel companies’ decision-making in sourcing.
