Abstract

The 'Rolling Wave' dress combined art and fashion and was inspired by Katsushika Hokusai's woodcut print 'The Great Wave of Kanagawa.' Digitally recreated and meticulously designed, the modified fabric captured the essence of the original's dynamic waves. The design embodied the fluidity and energy of oceanic motion through fabric treatment techniques and hand-stitched beads. The pattern printed on the Duchess satin highlighted the sheen of the waves and was emphasized by the precise draping and interfacing. This wearable work of art celebrated the natural beauty of the ocean, blending artistic expression with fashionable design.
