Abstract

This abstract will investigate the fundamental role of teaching and learning and how adjustments can be made to elevate students’ satisfactory learning experience and high-quality assignment outcomes. Key components explored include: 1) the significance of providing detailed guidelines to articulate assignment expectations, 2) the importance of aligning workload with students individual learning paces, and 3) the importance of prioritizing quality over quantity in curriculum planning efforts. This abstract discusses the experience of adapting the revised curriculum for a sophomore-level course focused on professional technical packaging and technical flat design using Microsoft® Excel and Adobe Illustrator® software. The effectiveness of the updated approach was evaluated using a course exit survey and by comparing the overall quality of student assignments with those from previous iterations of the course before the adjustments were implemented. The comparison revealed a noticeable improvement in assignment quality and higher grades.
