Abstract

This creative design project investigated how upcycling and augmented reality (AR) can be combined to promote sustainability and transparency in fashion. In response to the growing volume of global textile waste, the garment reimagined secondhand joggers and a silk blouse as a feminine dress. Through deconstruction, inversion, and recomposition, utilitarian sportswear was transformed into a refined silhouette enriched with hand-sewn silk floral elements. The project integrated an AR experience that visualized the garment’s previous forms. Accessible via QR code, the AR component allowed viewers to explore digital reconstructions of the original garments and provided transparency.

Keywords: Augmented Reality (AR), upcycling, transparency in fashion
