Could Punk Style be the New Solution for Upcycled Fashion?

Abstract

This study examines the integration of punk fashion within the context of Industry 5.0 and its combination with up-cycling fashion design to address the negative environmental impacts of the fashion industry. By analyzing the expression skills of the works of the most iconic punk designer, the author explores the application of punk fashion in creating innovative fashion style. The objectives of this study are to: 1) Analyze the design expression techniques of punk fashion and their potentila for developing new up-cycling designs. 2) Explore whether punk fashion techniques can provide a unique and innovative path for up-cycling fashion design in sustainable fashion, particularly in terms of creativity in design. 3) Propose a creative up-cycling punk fashion design. The finding of this study suggests that punk fashion not potential to inpire new fashion trends but also offers valuable insights and practices for systainable fashion design.
