Text analysis of online customer reviews for workplace maternity wear: A focus on product features, and customer satisfaction

Abstract

This study addresses the burgeoning maternity wear industry, with a specific focuson workplace-appropriate attire for professional pregnant women. Despite the industry's growth, there is a notable gap in providing suitable options for pregnant women who need to maintain a professional appearance and identity. Understanding customer preferences is crucial for market success, and this research employs a data-mining approach to analyze real consumer feedback on maternity wear brands. The study identifies key factors contributing to customer satisfaction by applying consumer value theory. The methodology involves collecting and analyzing online customer reviews from reputable third-party sites, revealing five prominent topics related to workplace maternity wear. Findings highlight the importance of design characteristics and functionality, emphasizing professional colors, versatile styles, and high-quality fabrics as crucial elements for improving product creation in this niche market.
