Abstract

This design scholarship challenge aimed to develop a dynamic fashion design to ultimately suggest an approach resulting in a modular and customizable fashion design by integrating lenticular printing technology into a geometric modular design. An additional aspect of the challenge was to integrate an advanced motion graphic image that emulated a blooming flower. To meet the design challenges, the Lenticular Blooming Flower was created from an animated GIF to create the blooming flower effect. A ten-framed dynamic image was printed on PVC lenticular film sheets and integrated into octagonal modules, depicting a harmonious flower shape. To complement the feminine aesthetic of the flower, an eight-gore full skirt, digitally printed with the different flower images, was cohesively coordinated to develop an ensemble of a fit and flare silhouette and a unique texture.
