Understanding the Need for Affordable Adaptive Clothing and Recommendations for a Resolution

Abstract

Adaptive clothing in the current retail market is catered to the consumer who has the economic position, status and purchasing power to buy clothing especially made for their disability. This option of acquiring clothing especially designed for one’s disability is challenging for an individual living on a limited income. In this concept paper, the authors will examine the creation of affordable adaptive apparel and recommend future applications.
