Abstract

This design was inspired by the visual and tactile qualities of a collection of yarn and cords of rayon and cotton fibers that had been manufactured for the home furnishings industry. A looping technique of hand-knitting was used to create the upper structure of the garment which was increased to knee length by inserting clusters of yarn at the outer edge and wrapping them to form tassels.
