Investigating Online Second-Hand Fashion Reselling Experience: The Case of Depop.com

Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the cost and benefit of online second-hand fashion marketplace from user reselling experience. A text-mining approach was applied in this study on a major online fashion reselling marketplace where any individual can buy and resell second-hand fashion products. Consumer perceives ease of use as the major benefit of using the platform. Lack of better customer service and security issues are perceived as the cost of using the platform. The cost issues need serious attention, otherwise, one of the best opportunities to reduce fashion waste will fail.
