Authors: ,

Abstract

This presentation will explore the Tracing Race at ISU Initiative and the outcomes of the most recently completed project “Exploring the Journey of Asian Women in STEM at ISU.” This oral history project carefully uncovers narratives of resilience and triumph in virtual conversations. Six video interviews reveal stories of grit, determination, and commitment, echoing inspiration in the various realms of education and life. Each professor's trajectory presents threads of resilience, tales not of privilege, but of persistence in the pursuit of excellence. Beyond personal journeys, these professors shape the future through advanced research and dedication to inclusivity, leaving footprints for others to follow. Findings showcase the power of stories to inspire change. This project reflects the importance of diversity as a journey that shapes individuals and the collective academic landscape. It is a demonstration that tells stories that go beyond interviews and narratives, resonating with those breaking barriers and redefining norms.
