My Journey as a Youth Participatory Action Researcher (YPAR)

Authors: , ,

Abstract

This session represents an exemplar of youth participatory action research (YPAR) that began in middle school and continued into college reflecting the power of a personal story. In this presentation, I will reflect on my seven years of living YPAR to highlight the importance of individual and collective youth voices in education. In highlighting the journey from being an 8th-grade youth researcher to majoring in elementary education to speaking at an international conference we will share future directions of youth engagement.
