I am First: Stories From First-Generation College Students

Abstract
TRIO Student Support Services serves 250 first-generation, low-income students and/or students with a documented disability at Iowa State University each year. During this session, four students will share their experiences as first-generation students. Stories will cover details on the decision to attend college, challenges unique to first-generation students, and helpful resources found during the college journey. Monica and Keara will highlight services through TRIO Student Support Services, program objectives, and insight on what impacts TRIO students' success most.
