Real Talk: Discussing the Experiences of Minority Student-Athletes at Iowa State University

Abstract
Today's student-athletes are faced with many challenges. These cha llenges range from maintaining a productive balance between athletics and academic commitments to coping with the high visibility attached to being a student-athlete. For minority student-athletes, the high visibility can be magnified, thus creating a myriad of unique cha ll enges. This panel discussion will address the challenges that minority student-athletes face at a predominantly white institution. They will highlight their journey including their cha llenges and triumphs. Various aspects of campus and community life will be discussed.
