TY - JOUR AB - <p>All cropping systems require fertilizer inputs in order to maintain crop yields. However, excess fertilizer, especially nitrogen and phosphorus, can increase problems with water quality. Starter fertilizer applied with the corn planter has been shown to sometimes increase corn yields.
