Pollinators in Iowa Corn and Soybean Fields

Abstract
Determining pollinator species in corn and soybean fields in Iowa is important for planning management practices that benefit both agriculture and wildlife conservation. Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) practices within Iowa’s agricultural landscape incentivize farmers and landowners to implement pollinator conservation practices, especially on marginal land or field edges. These practices have benefited pollinators and are economically feasible. Within-field management practices may also support pollinators, but they have not received as much attention as a possible mitigation strategy.
